Dental surgery procedures we provide include:

To minimise the discomfort associated with surgical procedures and improve outcomes for patients, our dentists are regularly learning new ways to treat oral problems from industry experts all around the world. We also accommodate any special requests from our patients to create a comfortable environment for them. Dental surgery can seem intimidating, but it’s necessary to stop problems from getting worse, and we’re here to make the whole process less traumatic.

Wisdom Tooth Removal:

Wisdom teeth, or third molars, tend to cause problems in the late teens and early twenties, growing sideways and impacting other teeth, causing pain in the process. You might have been told to get your wisdom teeth removed as a preventative measure, regardless of if it causes pain. While we’re certainly willing to remove wisdom teeth as a preventative measure, our doctors will perform a thorough evaluation to determine whether they are likely to be a problem at all.

Some people are lucky and have wisdom teeth that grow perfectly straight without causing any pain or discomfort, while others are extremely lucky and don’t have any third molars at all!

Wisdom teeth removal recovery times vary from patient to patient and are dependent on a number of factors, but our procedures are designed to minimise pain and complications such as dry socketing.

Extractions and Implants:

During a consultation with one of our experienced dentists, we’ll establish whether tooth extraction is necessary, or if you’ve already had extraction performed, we’ll discuss what kind of tooth replacement method would be best for you.

Replacement tooth options include:

  • Implants
  • Dentures
  • Bridges

Alternatively, if we think that your teeth are in a healthy enough state to not require extraction and dental implants, we may recommend restoration plus veneers or crowning to improve the cosmetic damage.

See our page on tooth replacements for more information on the options available.

Gum Grafting:

Dr Wei Shen has taken specialised gum grafting courses from industry experts in Europe. Gum grafting is necessary for patients with extremely recessed gum lines or lack of bone in key areas of the jaw. Dentists are seeing more cases of recessed gums from people who are brushing their teeth too hard out of fear of tooth decay. Gum grafting is a relatively straightforward procedure with short recovery times.

Tongue Tie Release:

Tongue ties, or the frenulum, are bits of skin attached to your tongue. Whilst tongue ties normally grow to accommodate a growing jaw, sometimes they stay too short and cause speaking and breathing problems, which may eventually result in misaligned jaws. Stopping this problem at the start is key for healthy jaw development in children. Procedures now use lasers coupled with tongue exercises to minimise pain and recovery times. Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
